Several muggings have been reported by the police.
Three students robbed and threatened an adolescent in Esch-Belval shortly before 3pm on Monday. The culprits demanded that he hand over his bag and his wireless headphones. They threw him to the ground in Rue du Swing and kicked him until he handed them the requested items before running away. The police were able to identify two suspects over the course of the investigations. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspects' homes were searched, and the stolen items were seized.
Around the same time, another adolescent was mugged at the railway station in Clervaux. Three unknown culprits threatened him and stole his wallet. Over the course of the investigations, the police were able to locate three suspects on the grounds of a school building and seized the stolen wallet from them. The public prosecutor's office was informed, and a complaint was filed.
In Esch-sur-Alzette, a worker in a bar in Grand Rue was mugged by two unknown men at 2am on early Tuesday morning, when he was in the process of closing the bar. The culprits snatched a briefcase from him and ran towards Rue du Faubourg. The victim was not injured during the mugging and filed a complaint. The investigations are still ongoing.
