Xavier Bettel met with Bill Gates in Luxembourg on Wednesday morning.
The Prime Minister received the American business magnate and philanthropist at the Ministry of State.
They discussed "common priorities" and the current geopolitical situation as well as climate and energy issues and the role of innovation in achieving a "more sustainable future".
Bill Gates arrived this Wednesday to Luxembourg for a working visit to the European Investment Bank. The Bank is a long-time partner of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
According to Le Quotidien, for security reasons, his visit to the country was kept secret until the very last minute. The Microsoft founder met with EIB President Werner Hoyer at the Bank's headquarters in Kirchberg.
Bill Gates also took part in a discussion with a handful of experts in front of the 3,600 EIB employees gathered in the HQ's Atrium.
The billionaire philanthropist had already visited Luxembourg, in a visit to the European Parliament in October 201 and had also previously met the Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, in Switzerland, in January 2019 at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The Prime Minister shared an image of the two men shaking hands with Place de Clairefontaine in Luxembourg City in the backdrop.
