Mathis Godefroid has stepped down after six years as President of the General Conference of the Luxembourg Youth (CGJL).
During a meeting of the CGJL executive committee, Godefroid stated that he would resign because he is a member of a political party and intends to stand as a candidate in the 2023 elections.
According to information obtained by our colleagues from RTL.lu, Godefroid is a member of the Pirate Party and will be a candidate in the Central District during the 2023 legislative elections and in Hesperange during the 2023 municipal elections.
The CGJL will now organise an extraordinary member assembly. Until then, Charles Majerus will temporarily take over as president.
