Last night, two people died as a consequence of road accidents.

Shortly after 8pm on Saturday, a fatal road accident took place on Route de Lenzweiler in Eselborn. A 63-year-old motorcyclist from Wiltz lost control over his vehicle in a turn and crashed into a tree as a result. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

A forensics team was sent to the scene to determine the potential cause of the accident.

Around 2.50am on Sunday, a motorist crashed into a tree while driving from Schifflange to Kayl. The car caught fire as a result of the collision. By the time emergency services arrived at the scene, the 45-year-old driver had already passed away.

The police and a forensics team were later deployed to the scene of the accident.

Another motorcyclist suffered injuries in a fall last night, which occurred between Sprinkange and Limpach at 7.15pm.

One person suffered injuries in a two-car collision on the A3 motorway near the Aire de Berchem.

Several fires reported overnight

The roof of a building caught fire in Perlé last night. Firefighters from Remich were called into action to extinguish the flames.

Another fire took place between Wintrange and Hamiville.

A lorry caught fire on the A1 motorway between Flaxweiler and Munsbach.
