According to a recent Statec report, over 300 people have been killed in traffic accidents in the Grand Duchy since 2011.

On Friday Statec published a study on traffic accidents between 2011 and 2020 on Luxembourg's roads. According to the statistics institute, 9,423 accidents involving injury were registered during this period. 12,787 people were victims of a road accidents during this time, 324 of whom passed away as a result of their injuries. This represents around 2.5%.
More than half of victims were seated behind the wheel (53%), while 17% were in the passenger seat. Statec reports that 13% of victims were pedestrians. Another 13% were motorcyclists and 4% were cyclists.

The statistics do not include figures for 2021. This data will be presented next week at a press conference chaired by the Minister of Mobility, François Bausch.
