The Food Safety Authority announced on Wednesday that there is a suspected presence of listeria monocytogenes in a Kwaremont cheese sold at Lidl.

The beer cheese by Kwaremont was sold at Lidl between 15 April and 3 May. Products with the following expiration dates are concerned by the recall: 4 May 2022, 9 May 2022, 10 May 2022, 11 May 2022, 14 May 2022, 16 May 2022, and 17 May 2022.

Listeria monocytogenes may cause headaches, fever, or even stomach flu, which can occur a few hours or several days after consumption. Vulnerable people and young children may also develop neurological symptoms.

People who consumed the product and developed symptoms are advised to consult a general practitioner.
