The pandemic has reignited interest in products with the Made-in-Luxembourg label.
According to a recent study from research panel TNS Ilres, 88% of residents regularly consume local produce from sustainable cultivation. Ever since borders closed for the first time, awareness of long supply chains and home-based alternatives has grown, and people's eating habits have changed as a result.
65% of people consider product origin a priority, while eight out of ten consumers decided to support locally grown produce more. 93% of Luxembourgers further believe that nationally sourced products are of good quality, a fact that should reinforce the enthusiasm of the Grand Duchy's producers.
The sale of local products significantly increased with the dawn of the pandemic, and Luxembourgish households spent up to 40% more on goods made in Luxembourg. Four out of ten people have changed their eating habits to include more locally sourced produce since.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Labour, and the Chamber of Commerce first introduced the Made-in-Luxembourg label in 1984. By now, 1,400 businesses have permission to advertise their products with the prestigious label.
