On Tuesday, the Luxembourgish State and Luxair agreed on a "temporary loan of manpower" to avoid redundancies.

The Luxembourg airline reportedly indicated that it "could not guarantee employment for a number of its employees".

In particular, this concerns 69 employees who will henceforth be "assigned to the services of the Luxembourgish State". This assignment cannot exceed five years but can be renewed, according to the Ministry of Labour's press release.

This is not the first agreement between the two parties. The Luxembourgish State reports that there are currently 138 employees assigned to various ministries, the National Employment Agency (ADEM), and the National Archives.

The costs of these new temporary labour loans will be covered by the Employment Fund.
