The latest ranking by Times Higher Education was published on Thursday.
A total of 1,660 institutions are evaluated for the global ranking, with the University of Luxembourg coming in between places 251 to 300.
In particular, Uni.lu was able to significantly improve their score in the area of research.
The UK's Oxford University remains the worldwide leader, followed by the three US elite universities California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Harvard, and Stanford.
In the ranking of universities that have been established in the past 50 years, meanwhile, Uni.lu comes in at a respectable 20th position.
