On Tuesday evening at 9.30pm, a group of youths staged a robbery at a Wiltz service station.

The group of five stole items from the petrol station shop, as well as vandalising the area. They ran away when the police arrived.

A short search took place, after which officers located three of the five offenders. The culprits resisted arrest and fought back, striking a police officer in the face. Another offender later went to the police station where he threatened officers at the desk.

The culprits appeared to be drunk and acted aggressively, spitting at officers and breaking items, which led to reinforcements being called in to assist with the situation.

An investigation revealed that two of the group were missing from the Dreiborn security unit for young offenders. They were later returned to the institution.

In Martelange, another thief tried their luck at a petrol station around midday on Tuesday. He attempted to take several crates of alcohol and 50 bottles of vodka, to the tune of €1,764. However, officers succeeded in arresting the would-be shoplifter and he was brought before an investigating magistrate.
