
Sunday was the first day of 2021 with people legally allowed to sit inside a restaurant.
For a period of close to six months, or since 26 November, this has not been not allowed due to the coronavirus restrictions.
Sunday was also the first day with bars and restaurants allowed to stay open until 10pm.
Furthermore, four people can once again sit together at a table, even if they are not from the same household. The curfew has also been pushed back one hour, which means it is now set at midnight.
At lunchtime on Sunday, more people were seeking to sit on a terrace than inside in Luxembourg City. However, guests also did not seem to shy away from the rapid tests.
Our colleagues from RTL talked to a number of clients and business owners, and overall, the enthusiasm was greater than any potential reservations.
