Police carried out speed checks on the A7 motorway on Thursday and Friday evening between 9.30 pm and 11 pm.

Three of the cars checked were caught doing more than 200 km/h on the motorway linking the capital via Kirchberg to Ettelbruck.

All three of the speeding drivers had to hand over their licences on the spot.

In addition, 17 people were fined €145 and lost two points on their licence. Four other drivers received fines of €49 each.
