Restaurants remain open in the Grand-Duchy and attract many Belgians who don't want to miss out on eating out.

Despite, or rather because of, Coronavirus travel restrictions, many Belgians enjoy meals at Luxembourgish restaurants along their border. One restaurant in Hobscheid confirms they have been fully booked since the beginning of the school holidays. Half of their customers are Belgians who are escaping their own lockdown and hop the few metres across the border.

Cathy, a resident of Arlon, is enjoying a choucroute. "Since the hospitality sector remains open in Luxembourg, we are making the most of it. After lunch we will walk back to Belgium. We are here on foot."

One table over, Thomas is enjoying mussels. "It's nice to still get out and to enjoy some quality family time," he says.

While the infection levels have stabilised a little in Luxembourg, the situation is far from safe. Needless to say, trips from Belgium to Luxembourg are strongly discouraged.
