Luxembourg will receive more than 400,000 doses of the vaccine ordered by the European Union.
While the European Commission has announced that it has pre-ordered more than 300 million doses of the future coronavirus vaccine from the AstraZeneca laboratory, how many will be allocated to Luxembourg?
In an answer to a parliamentary question by Pirate Party MP Sven Clément, Minister of Health Paulette Lenert confirmed that thanks to this "advance purchase contract" signed by the European Commission, the Grand Duchy would receive 0.14% of the order, i.e. 420,000 doses of the vaccine.
Lenert added that if necessary, Luxembourg will always be able to order additional doses through the Commission.
In addition to these 300 million doses, the EU could also receive a further 100 million doses.
