The Ministry of the Economy published an appeal on Tuesday, urging supermarkets to enforce specific precautionary measures.
Current guidelines require members of the public to maintain a 2 metre distance from others. The Ministry recommended supermarkets monitor store entrances and limit the number of customers entering the store.
On Wednesday, queues developed outside supermarkets as the measures were put in place.

The Ministry's statement confirms that social distancing will apply to supermarket entrances.
As long as hygiene and prevention measures are observed, cashiers at store tills should not be at any more risk than others.
