The group has also announced the purchase of large offices in Kirchberg, including a 10,000-square-meter building that will be completed next year.

On top of that, the “Mama Shelter” hotel chain will be opening a new establishment in 2020 with a capacity of 145 rooms.

These two new acquisitions are located in Rue du Fort Niedergrünewald and denote an investment of €70 million.

Batipart already owns a 14,000 square meter building in Kirchberg that it rents to the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Pictet Bank.

This acquisition of hotels constitutes a strategic investment that has allowed the group to take ownership of 1,000 hotel rooms, one-fifth of the total capacity of the capital.

BCEE, Banque de Luxembourg, and BGL BNP Paribas have collaborated in the investment.

The Batipart Group, headquartered in Luxembourg, has also established a presence in Africa via the Onomo chain with nine hotels. Charles Ruggieri, who founded the company years ago, is considered the richest man in Lorraine.

Of Italian heritage, he ranks 94th among the richest men in France.
