Howald's retail scene is likely to change over the next few years, as 14 businesses on Rue des Scillas are due to close down.

The businesses based in the retail park surrounding the Buffalo Grill restaurant have not had their leases renewed, which means they will soon have to move out of the retail park.

Alongside the restaurant, there is also a Fressnapf, a Casa, a Blokker, a Maxi Toys, and a A.S. Adventure based at the retail park. The news was reported on by L'Essential on Thursday. The businesses are likely to close down by mid-2020.

The Belgian investment company Baltisse, the owner of the retail park since 2014, plans to build a new project at the site with offices, housing, and some businesses on a surface area of 40,000 to 50,000 square metres.
