
58 companies submitted applications for short-time work in the month of June, according to the latest meeting of the Economic Committee, the tripartite body responsible for assessing short-time working application. The committee approved 53 of these requests, potentially affecting approximately 2,776 full-time job positions.
During the same meeting, the Economic Committee also reviewed figures for the month of February. 51 businesses had submitted applications for short-time work at that time, of which 29 actually implemented the measure. In total, 792 employees were affected, corresponding to 160 full-time job positions.
Costs for the Luxembourg Employment Fund amounted to around €582,000 in February.
The next meeting of the Economic Committee is scheduled for 24 June.
