Regarding potential repercussions on humans and their health, the government bases its decisions on scientific literature from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the French Agence de Sécurité sanitaire, and the European Union.

Based on this information, the weak electromagnetic fields do not have any impact on health, as Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Minister for the Environment Joëlle Welfring, and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert pointed out in their reply to a parliamentary question by MP Fernand Kartheiser from the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr).

So far, around 400 authorisations for 5G sites across the country have been granted. The locations of these antennae can be found on the cellular phone cadastre on Geoportail.lu

The government specifies that it will continue to respect the “precaution principle,"i.e., keep the exposure of the population to electromagnetic fields as low as possible.

In his parliamentary question, the MP referred to a US and an Italian study that suggest that radio radiation in the 5G range could increase the risk of cancer.
