Behind Brazil, Portugal takes the second spot, with 1,237 individuals acquiring Luxembourgish nationality. Third place goes to neighbouring France, with 1,131 people becoming Luxembourgish.
Individuals from Luxembourg’s other neighbouring countries Germany and Belgium also sought Luxembourgish citizenship, with 308 applying from Germany and 516 applying from Belgium.
Additionally, it is worth noting that 222 people from Russia and 86 from Ukraine also became Luxembourgish citizens.
