Based just a short walk from RTL Today's offices in RTL City, ENEX's 30th anniversary celebrations saw the attendance of 89 delegates from across the globe.
The celebrations took place as part of the exchange's General Assembly, also held at RTL City.
Adrian Wells, the Managing Director of ENEX, initiated the General Assembly with a look back at the company's thirty-year history and the global events that occurred alongside it. He underscored Enex's value in having a varied membership and identified the network as the company's main distinguishing feature. Following Adrian's opening remarks, Sonja Schwetje, the Editor-in-Chief of NTV and ENEX Board Chair, took the stage with an impactful address. She emphasized the critical roles of media freedom, reliability, and a range of viewpoints within the media sector.
Among those in attendance were Luxembourgish MEP Charles Goerens, who delivered a thought-provoking speech on the state of the European Union as well as the importance of media during challenging times.
Also notable was a discussion hosted by Mark Evans, ENEX's Head of News, on the impact of AI technologies. This panel discussion featured Frederic Fievez from BCE, Mimir co-founder Kristiam Kim Eikeland, and Professor Charles Beckett from London School of Economics who also founded the school's JournalismAI initiative.
