This is one of the main goals of the new collaboration with Renault, namely to expand the range of electric vehicles. The basis is Renault’s Ampere platform, which already underpins models such as the R5 E-Tech and the Nissan Leaf.
The Ranger pick-up has received a few tweaks inside and out and is now available in additional trim levels. Of particular interest, however, is the new hybrid drivetrain, combining a 2.3-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor. With 281 hp and almost 700 Nm of torque, those are impressive figures, while the rugged Ford is said to manage up to 43 km of electric range.
