Oh, hear ye, hear ye, fair citizens all!
On this day we celebrate the hamster’s call,
For it is International Hamster Day,
And we must pay tribute to these creatures in our own way.

But let us not forget the truth, my friends,
That hamsters can sometimes play games and bend
The rules of their cages and their wheels,
And leave us humans in quite a conundrum of feels.

For when they escape, they do not care,
Whether they leave us in despair.
They scurry and scamper and hide away,
Leaving us to search and cry all day.

And when they’re found, they do not repent,
But instead give us a look so innocent,
As if to say, “Oh, did you miss me so?
I was just having a bit of fun, you know.”

So let us raise a toast to these tiny creatures,
And their mischievous and playful features.
May they continue to bring us joy and laughter,
And remind us of the beauty in life ever after.
