A heartbroken woman in China took an unusual kind of revenge on her cheating ex-boyfriend after the couple broke up: she sent a tonne of onions to his apartment to make him cry as much as she did.

According to the Daily Mail and various other media outlets, the woman, named Zhao, was heartbroken after her then-boyfriend broke up with her.

She decided to take an unusual kind of revenge: furious and heartbroken, she reportedly sent 1,000kgs of onions to her ex boyfriend’s home. The onions were delivered straight to his doorstep. Photos and videos of curious incident went viral on Chinese social media.

Zhao did not contact her ex-boyfriend in person but is said to have added a note saying “I’ve cried for three days, it’s your turn now.”

The ex-boyfriend later told Shandong Net that he had broken up due to “over the top” behaviour.” He added: “My ex-girlfriend was very dramatic. She is telling everyone that I haven’t shed one tear since our break-up,” he said. “Am I a bad person for simply not crying?”
