The unfortunate incident occurred on 7 October. Before Captain Steve Peckham, of the Westport Yacht company, started the fueling process, the luxury yacht started to accelerate forward, crashing into several smaller boats.
The yacht, which is owned by Westport, was about to be delivered to its new owner.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said that they do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. “It possibly had something to do with the on board electronics,” they said of the possible cause.
