The lineup includes new films from Wes Anderson, Wim Wenders, Ken Loach, and Catherine Breillat. Another movie could potentially be added to the selection, making 20 movies in total.

The documentary “Jeunesse” by Chinese director Wang Bing, a Les Films Fauves (LU/Gilles Chanial) co-production with France, Hong Kong and the Netherlands, is part of the festival’s official competition.

The feature film “The Delinquents” (LOS DELINCUENTES) by Argentine director Rodrigo Moreno, a Les Films Fauves (LU/Gilles Chanial) co-production with Argentina, Chile and Brazil, is selected in the “Un certain regard” section.

Both films were financially supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg and include the participation of many Luxembourgish talents in the artistic and technical teams.

Also worthy of mention is Luxembourgish actress Marie Jung who features in the film “Acid” by Just Philippot. The film in question has been selected among the “midnight screening” movies.

Out-of-competition movies include Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon”, a strong favourite to be included in the run for the Palme d’or.

For the first time, the list features 6 female directors in total. The movie opening the festival “Jeanne du Barry”, is by female French director Maïwenn Le Besco and features Johnny Depp as a lead.
