Upon his arrival at the airport on a flight from Bogota, Colombia, the man drew the attention of the police as he appeared to be quite nervous and was wearing a peculiarly large toupee under his hat.
Writing on Facebook, the Policia Nacional confirmed that the man had a package containing half a kilogram of cocaine hidden under his hairpiece. The police statement continued: “There is no limit to the ingenuity of drug traffickers attempting to circumvent controls.”
The above photographs of the man, shared by the police and concealing his eyes, shows the hairpiece in question, which undoubtedly appeared to be suspicious.
The police detained the man at the airport. Officers estimated that the amount of cocaine could be valued at above €30,000 depending on purity and the cut.
