Dave the Duck was no ordinary duck. He lived with three female ducks - and regularly mated ten times a day or more with each of them.
The obsession, however, got him into trouble: he ended up with with an infection in his private parts. Despite his owner treating him with antibiotics and a daily wash, the situation did not improve for Dave - who also could not refrain from continuing to indulge in his mating habits.
When the problem got worse, Dave’s owner took him to the vet, who had to take the drastic measure of surgically removing the duck’s member. As Highcroft Rabbit, Small Mammal and Exotic Vets explained, “a duck’s penis is only used for mating, not urination. So Dave underwent surgery to remove his penis.”
Dave has fully recovered but “the only drawback is that he has lost his will,” the owner said.
