The release day of the much-expected next generation gaming consoles will soon be upon us. No official statement has yet been made by Sony or Microsoft on the price ranges of their pending products. It now appears that they might be cheaper than previously expected.
London analyst Piers Harding-Rolls has released a financial report that estimates the price of both consoles to be between $450 and $500. A price that is much lower than what fans expected.
Unfortunately, dollar prices are often exactly replicated on the European markets, making the consoles more expensive when bought with euros. The postponing of an official price announcement is probably due to the competition between both companies. The second to release a price tag for their product will benefit from being able to adapt to the move of the other.
The financial analysis done by Ampere takes into consideration the fluctuations that have occurred since the beginning of the pandemic. According to the report, current events could have major influences on the gaming consoles, set to be released in December.
There is however also warning of possible delivery delays because of disruptions in production. Bloomberg actually expects prices to rise if that happens.
