The clip is from a Pennsylvania news program aired on WNEP-TV, which has a number that viewers can call to express their own views on various news topics. One such call was from a man who clearly is not a particularly big fan of roundabouts (note that these are at times referred to as ‘traffic circles’ in American English):
“We didn’t have tornadoes here until we started putting in the traffic circles. Cause, on account of — you want to know why? When people go round and round in circles, it causes disturbance in the atmosphere, and causes tornadoes.”
