Rubble was a Maine coon, the largest domesticated breed of cat.

His owner Michelle Foster confirmed that Rubble passed away peacefully on 3 July aged 31 (representing around 150 human years).

Rubble had become the world’s oldest verified cat in January of this year.

He was a long way off breaking the record for the oldest ever feline, however: a cat by the name of Creme Puff died in 2005 at the grand old age of ... 38!
