Organised by the Luxembourgish Academy of Fashion and Art (LUXAFA) with the aim of linking international artists and designers through fashion, the Fashion Weekend also featured the semi-finals of a modelling competition.
As part of the Art Festival, titled The Art of Gathering, attendees had the opportunity to experience the work of international artists from across the globe, including Ukraine, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic. Katarina Chyvra, a Ukrainian artist, shared in an interview with RTL that she supports the event’s central goal of uniting art and fashion, as she creates artwork that can be transformed into clothing.
Daniel Kasindi of LUXAFA elaborated on the event’s mission, highlighting the focus on showcasing Luxembourgish artists at the intersection of art and fashion, while also emphasising the importance of collaboration with international artists.
Thai designer Pimpa Kampab expressed her excitement about being part of the event, describing the experience as “wonderful” and a true pleasure to be in Luxembourg.
In the modelling competition, 10 finalists chosen by the jury will compete in the European finals in September.
Although small, the festival was deemed a success by LUXAFA.
