Whether you find yourself alone, or with friends, or with your family, these movies guarantee the warm fuzzy feeling that Christmas is all about! There are a lot of movies out there, so I decided to list my personal favourite ones but feel free to share your top Christmas movies in the comments below, maybe someone will find a new favourite among them :)

1) Love Actually

This movie absolutely sleighs! It’s an absolute must-watch for me personally. I can’t imagine Christmas without the Richard Curtis classic Love Actually that came out in 2003! It has everything you would expect from a Christmas movie: love, laughter, a touch of drama, and that hopeful feeling of Christmas magic we all need. Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman,...Need I say more?

2) How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Dr.Seuss’ Christmas-hating character the Grinch is played by Jim Carrey who absolutely nails the resting Grinch face! The older I got, the more I could relate to the sneering and grimacing of this legendary green fellow and I’m sure many of you will as well!

3) Little Women

Although this movie isn’t a Christmas film per se, Louisa May Alcott’s classic coming-of-age tale encompasses everything we would expect from a Christmas movie: family, hope and love all wrapped up in the cozy feeling of domesticity. There are a number of adaptations, the most recent one done by Greta Gerwig starring Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Watson...I must admit however, that my favourite one remains Gillian Armstrong’s adaptation from 1994, starring Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder and Christian Bale.

4) Home Alone

This list would probably be canceled without the ultimate Christmas classic - Home Alone. Take a trip down 90s lane and re-watch (as I assume everyone has seen it by now...) how an eight-year-old tries to fend off burglars and defend his home on Christmas eve, as you do.

5) The Nightmare Before Christmas

Who doesn’t love a Halloween-Christmas-cocktail featuring characters created by none other than Tim Burton? I know I do! Without spoiling too much, this stop-motion animated movie is a visual feast for young and old alike!
