In this season's finale of Take Off, Fréderik Mortier was crowned winner ahead of Ella Wilgé. The Lycée des Garçons student built a Rube Goldberg machine that worked slightly better than Ella’s, and took home the €10,000 cash prize.

The final brought the last challenge in a series of more than 30 scientific conundrums thrown at the contestants throughout the entire third season, and tested their ability to keep a cool head under time pressure.

In an interview, we got to know a bit more of Fréderik’s personal side. He takes us into the dance hall: “When we got together, Alicia told me, my boyfriend has to dance. And that was one of those things where there wasn’t much room for discussion.”

Fréderik also explains what comes next for him after the show, what he found particularly cool about Take Off, and what he plans to do with the €10,000 prize money.
