Peter, the steward-turned-thespian, has become an internet sensation after his safety demonstration on a flight from Newark to Tampa in the United States turned into a comedic ballet. The video, captured by passenger Joey MacNeer, has amassed more than one million views on TikTok, much to the delight of homebound viewers.
Peter “made every second of the flight great”, MacNeer told Insider. He captioned his TikTok video “Give this guy a raise”.
The TikTok audience has been equally captivated by Peter’s spontaneous air-cabin cabaret. “His calling is BROADWAY!” one comment read.
However, not all viewers saw the performance as pure joy. Some interpreted Peter’s mime-like antics as a silent cry for help from the monotony of his job. “That’s a great employee who’s fed up with his job” a TikToker noted.
Peter later took to social media himself, commenting on the video that it was a “pleasure” working for the airline, and that he hoped to see Joey again on his next flight.
JetBlue, for its part, has yet to comment on its newfound star.
