According to Buzzfeed News, the Secret Service only intervened after an employee of celebrity news website TMZ apparently voiced his concerns in an email. The interview took place in January 2018, after which the case was dismissed.
Eminem later mentioned the visit from the Secret Service in a song named The Ringer, the lead track of his 2018 album Kamikaze.
He is known to be strongly opposed to President Donald Trump. In 2017, he released a bizarre freestyle that attacked Trump’s campaign against NFL stars who knelt during the national anthem.
