The British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) 2023 brings you 12 exclusive feature-length films, showcasing a diverse range of independent cinema genres. From heartwarming comedies to gripping dramas, these films offer a captivating experience, inviting you to be among the first to witness their premieres in Luxembourg.
The festival’s grand opening will feature the Irish comedy drama “The Miracle Club,” followed by a thrilling closing night with the English production “The Outfit,” a gripping tale set in gangland Chicago. In addition to these highlights, “Little Duke” (filmed right here in Luxembourg), Agatha Christie’s “A Haunting in Venice,” and contemporary war drama “Mending the Line,” will all grace the screen. An evening dedicated to shorts will showcase the Oscar-winning “An Irish Goodbye,” as well as the Oscar-nominated “The Red Suitcase,” which also hails from Luxembourg.
Interact with industry stars at the festival, including Barry Ward, lead actor of “Sunlight,” director Andy Bausch of “Little Duke,” Lydia Little representing “Breaking Out,” and Adrian Sibley, director of “The Ghost of Richard Harris.” Additionally, three talented short film directors will be present for insightful post-screening Q&A sessions.
Your opinion matters at BIFFL. Engage with the films and vote for your favorites with the Audience Award. Plus, exciting prizes await two lucky audience award voters – a magnum of crémant from Bernard-Massard or a hamper from Home from Home.
BIFFL 2023 also nurtures emerging filmmakers with its Young Filmmaker Competition, open to students in 2nd and 3rd level education. Winning entries will have the chance to shine at the BIFFL 2024 Spring Festival in March.
Tickets are accessible to all, with prices ranging from €3.70 to €9.00 for Cinémathèque screenings and €10 for Ciné Utopia (Under 12s for “Little Duke” are €7).
