A teenage fan invited on stage at Green Day's Luxembourg concert surprised the crowd by playing Oasis' Wonderwall instead of the expected Green Day hit – prompting amused reactions from the band and a nod from Liam Gallagher himself.
The American rock band Green Day often invites fans on stage to play one of their songs live, but during their concert in Luxembourg, the moment went off track.
Usually, the selected and lucky fan is meant to perform Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) with the band. The young man started as expected, but after a few seconds switched to the intro of a different song – not by Green Day – Wonderwall by Oasis.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong took the guitar back and said, "Nice try." "Wrong song, wrong song," he added, amused, as the guest musician returned to the crowd.
The incident sparked international reactions and was picked up not only by European media. Even Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher personally responded, commenting on X: "Best song of the night".
According to various media outlets, the young musician is reportedly named Felix and is 14 years old. If he ever wants to play Wonderwall on RTL, he's more than welcome to get in touch with us!
