Premiering on 14 January on RTL Today and RTL Play, this innovative show combines the excitement of competition with the wonders of science, featuring twelve young talents aged 15 to 21 who compete for a grand prize of €10,000. Each episode brings new scientific challenges, with one contestant leaving the show until the final winner emerges.

In each episode, contestants face a series of unique and challenging tasks designed to test their scientific knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills. These range from practical experiments and engineering feats to complex problem-solving exercises, all crafted to push the boundaries of conventional science education. The challenges are set in a dynamic and interactive environment, making science both accessible and thrilling for viewers.

As the contestants navigate these challenges, they not only compete for the grand prize, but also demonstrate the practical and exciting aspects of science to inspire viewers at home.

Where and when to watch

The excitement of Take Off is accessible to a wide audience, with its premiere scheduled for 7pm on 14 January. Viewers can catch the show on RTL Télé and on RTL Play ensuring easy access for both traditional TV audiences and online viewers. The show is a collaborative effort between the André Losch Foundation and the National Research Fund (FNR), with inspiration from Estonia’s award-winning show ‘Rakett69', currently in its 14th season. Hosted by Joseph Rodesch, Lucie Zeches, and Olivier Catani, Take Off promises to be a blend of education, entertainment, and suspense.

To inspire a love for science in young people and families, the show will also provide educational content for teachers via science.lu, making the fascinating world of research more accessible and engaging for students.
