A few weeks back Stephen (Steps), host of RTL Today Radio’s The Lunchbox had the brainwave/stupidest idea ever to allow readers of RTL Today and RTL Today Radio listeners to choose his next hair cut.
To say it raised a few eyebrows is putting it mildly and there were a number of people in the RTL City offices who wondered if Steps would follow through with his bold (bald) claim.
We need not have been worried though, as true to his word, Steps dutifully headed to the Barbers (the Belle Etoile situated Ferber’s Barbershop) to meet with his stylist Jeremy.
Julia Maaluf of RTL Today played a tiny surprise on our unsuspecting soon-to-blonde chatterbox, by insisting the chair was turned and that the ‘reveal’ was saved till the end.
There then followed three hours of colours, dyes, near tears, sugary coffee, washes, rinses and a fair few swear words.
The RTL Today Radio team were bitterly disappointed that the results were far, far better than they had hoped and that newly blonde Steps was found to have a bounce in his step (no pun intended) and a sparkle in his eyes. Though they can report that he is back to being grumpy as sin after a few early morning stints on the radio’s Breakfast Show.
Steps also spoke with Laura Ferber, owner of the salons, about how men’s grooming has boomed in popularity in recent years, and this you can see below.
