Luxembourg City is putting on a series of intimate concerts at Mansfeld Park in Clausen between 18 June and 4 August. Ranging from pop to classical to jazz and world music, both local and international artists are in the spotlight. Tickets cost €12 per person, except for the Fete de la Musique edition this Friday, as well as the National Holiday concerts. There are still seats available for Lata Gouveia & Band (Vintage Pop Rock) and Klein (Jazz/Electro). Broken Secrets examines public and private conversations surrounding militancy, migration, oppression and victimisation. Drawing from historical and contemporary narratives, the exhibition investigates distrust and deception, showing the fragility of institutional and personal connections and questioning the line between truth and falsehood. How do secrets prevent freedom? By depicting diverse aspects of secrecy, four artists Avetisjans (Riga), Jiang (Shanghai), Selley (London), Yaghmaian (Tehran) actively take part in this dialogue. The City of Luxembourg has set up an educational and fun trail through the capital, made up of 14 information points to learn about the world of bees and other insects essential to a healthy and balanced environment. This 2.5 km circuit is free to access and will allow children and adults to discover the richness of biodiversity in the urban environment. Panels alongside the trail are in French, German and English. There are also guided tours available on select days (see link above). Who knows if the next Beyoncé, Frank Sinatra or James Brown is from Luxembourg? Well, you’re most likely to hear them at the 4th edition of the “Future Talent Stage” festival taking place this Sunday, virtually, between 4-6pm on the City of Luxembourg’s Youtube channel and Facebook/Instagram page. The show is open to people aged 15-25 who want to showcase their vocal talent in any genre, including pop, hip hop, urban, soul or other. Registrations are closed, but the line up is ready to go and blow off the roof through your TV speakers.What: Ironic sense of humour

Ahh, the bagpipe. An instrument traditionally made from the skin of a whole animal, often a sheep, turned inside out with pipes placed where the legs and neck would have been. They were often used to scare off enemies on the battlefield, and functioned as an ‘alarm’ when the enemy was approaching. Alright, all of that aside: this weekend you can build your own at the youth science club! It’s an electronic one, but still cool. Also, Queen Elizabeth wakes up thanks to a bagpiper parading beneath the Queen’s window.
