A plant market, organised by the Centre for Ecological Learning Luxembourg (CELL) at Rotondes on Saturday, will definitely make your green fingers tingle. Local gardeners and sellers are present and will have an array of plants and seeds up for grabs, and visitors are welcome to bring along their own things that they wish to give away. Don’t forget to bring some serious crates along if you’re going to schlep those greens home after.

This double bill is a real treat. First up is Hamburg-based multi-instrumentalist Tom Gatza, who creates an intimate setting with this cinematic atmospheres and energetic drum sounds. Using the piano to create spacious soundscapes, Gatza takes his audience on a hypnotic journey between neoclassical, jazz and post-rock. Then, All Reitz Reserved from Luxembourg takes over the second part of the evening. He is one of the most inventive and original artists in the Grand Duchy, creating electronic, hip hop and 90s trip-hop music with his electronic violin and numerous gadgets.

In a transition away from the fossil fuel economy, the root causes of capitalism and colonialism must first be addressed, argues Suzanne Dhaliwal. A climate justice creative, campaigner, researcher, lecturer in environmental justice and trainer in creative strategies for decolonisation, she will speak at Mudam about finding ways together to respond to the global crisis of climate change. The Science Club for kids really showcases a diverse programme each week, and this Saturday the group will go looking for fossils in the hard rock of a Rumelange quarry, which used to be a coral reef thousands of years ago. Maybe you’ll spot an ancient snail? Prior registration is required, and there’s a small €10 participation fee to be paid on site per child.

Quite a mouthful trying to repeat that title, but Vianden Castle will be exhibiting the contestants of the International Contest of Caricature and Cartoon this Saturday, which marks the 14th anniversary of the prize. For reference, here’s a link to the 2020 winners. This sounds like an entertaining trip for Saturday, combining a visit to this wonderful castle, as well as seeing thought-provoking and entertaining artworks inside.
What: “The train is lost.” - a classic quote

As part of this weekend’s ‘Sense & Sensibility’ programme, Cinémathèque is screening this intriguing Wes Anderson film from 2007. After the death of their father, three brothers set out on a train journey across India, in an attempt to rediscover their lost bond. The experiences that they have force them to introspect.
