The city flea market is back for the summer months! Between April and late October, the Luxembourg City flea market is a large street market where private individuals can sell second-hand items they no longer need. It is different to the antique market, which is reserved for professional vendors. Not only is the flea market an unmissable event for bargain hunters and vintage fans, it’s a great excuse to go out for a Sunday stroll around the city.

Look, this may seem like a bit of a cheeky suggestion. But your What’s On editor is performing a concert this Saturday at Opderschmelz ahead of his ‘Love Don’t Come Easy’ EP release on 7 May - it’s the first time back on stage in over a year, an unthinkably long time ago...Only one or two physical tickets left, and guests are welcomed in a safe environment with comfy couches, tables and distanced seats. If you prefer staying home, then thanks to Radio Latina there’ll be a live video stream on their Facebook page (linked above).

Despite efforts to fight the pandemic at a supranational, European level, national isolation often preserved. Could the Covid-19 health crisis have weakened the European foundations? Children and young teens between the ages of 11-13 are invited to the Science Club at the Museum of Natural History to build their own metal detector. The device, which you may then take home upon completion, may help you find a buried treasure, a bronze age axe head, a two-pound meteor or 5th century European royalty ring (these are all real finds by people around the world!)

What: Great singer-songwriter in action

With the release of his eighth album at the end of 2020, Daniel Balthasar is one of Luxembourg’s most prolific singer-songwriter. He has recorded across Europe, including the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, and has gigged across Central Europe. He is joined on stage by his dedicated band. For this intimate concert at CAPE, Daniel Balthasar and his musicians will offer a performance that gives pride of place to acoustic interpretations.

The Moselle Valley is not only known for its rich wine offering, but also the area’s natural beauty - rolling hills, lush vineyards, and lovely walking trails. This panorama hike in Remich can be booked upon request with a minimum of two participants and a guide will take you on a tour through the area. An interactive, informative and tasty weekend outing for sure - but please stay safe and take public transport after.
