Welcome to the weekend! Not sure whether you expected computer programming for kids or birdwatching amongst this week's suggestion, but some exciting out-of-the-box events are scheduled for the next three days. There's also live jazz, several exhibitions and a funky action thriller in Tamil. The weekend is yours!

All you have to do is observe birds for one hour from your balcony/terrace or garden and mark how many birds of each kind you see. An online form is available to help you out.

5. Computer coding for kids

What: Fun & interactive classes for kids
Where: Forum Campus Geesseknäppchen, 40 Boulevard Pierre Dupong, 1430 Luxemburg
When: Full schedule available on website - info here

The story behind Kids Life Skills is really inspiring, as founder Ronen writes: “Everything started when we moved to Luxembourg. I was looking for STEM courses for my daughter and I couldn’t find any. I was frustrated because I felt it was so crucial for young children to understand and use technology in a more conscious way than playing Fortnite or scrolling through Instagram. And still, there were no such activities for kids below the age of 10.

So I decided to do it on my own. I went out and started creating little games based on the concepts of coding, that would train my daughter’s problem solving and self-learning skills – she loved them.”

And here we are today - Kids Life Skills aim to help prepare children for their future to give them the best odds in an increasingly digital world. Classes are held at Forum Campus Geesseknäppchen and are meant for children between the ages of 4-13. For all details click on the link above.

Nepal is a fascinating and multifaceted country, where ethnicities and cultures, tradition and modernity all mingle in a giant melting pot. It is home to the crowds of the city and the calm of remote villages, the highest mountains in the world and a dense and wild jungle.

The NGDO-FNEL exhibition “Nepal, land of contrasts” brings together images taken by Marc Hammer and will take you on a journey to the heart of this country. Saturday is the last day you can wander through the exhibition at Banque Fortuna.
