It’s a strange time to graduate and go off to university, but informing yourself about potential study programmes or universities is always a good idea. Even now during the pandemic, the famous Luxembourg study fair has moved online, where you can virtually move around the large expo hall and connect to the different stands. Quite refreshing from having to wander hours through the thick air of exposition halls, maybe?

The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Markus Stenz, will be performing two exciting sets this Friday evening. The compositions of Haydn and Gabrieli are on the musical menu. The musical works of Gabrieli mirror the transition from late Renaissance to the early Baroque period. Let’s hope no chandeliers fall down during the performance of Haydn’s piece, though, as this historically happened during his own symphony premiere in 1791. Wups!

What: Will Bond save the earth?

Number 11 in the Bond series, thus fitting for the 11th month of the year. After a space shuttle which has been loaned to the United Kingdom is hijacked, James Bond is asked to step in and get to the root of the problem.
What: Extraordinary blend of musical styles

This concert showcases unprecedented musical fusion of cultures and sound epochs. Kayhan Kalhor is an internationally renowned, Grammy-winning grandmaster of the Kamantsche (Iranian spiked violin) and the Setar (long-necked lute), who has made Persian music globally known through his diverse musical collaborations. He is widely recognised as one of the most important ambassadors of Iranian music and culture.
