Worakls, a French DJ, took an interesting spin in his career after studying classical piano at the conservatory before going on to produce electronic music. From the conservative auditorium he suddently jumped onto world stages at techno festivals. Yet, at the end of the day, he has not drifted for off from his early upbringing and education; his electro beats are filled with classical elements.
On this night then, Worakls will also be joined on stage by an orchestra of 20 musicians. It will be a majestic, powerful, upbeat and dancable evening, and tickets are still on sale on the venue website.

Following an incredible five weeks of rugby action, we’ve reached the Rugby World Cup Final between South Africa and England. The match will be shown on two large screens and three flat screens at Scott’s Pub this Saturday morning. Yes, it’s early, but who said you couldn’t enjoy a good beer at 10 in the morning? What: Dive into the musical unknown

What to bring: Curiosity and open-mindedness
Rotonde’s unique “Foire aux Disques” is taking place this Sunday. After having explained to your kids what those circular black things are that keep swiveling around on a desk, take them out between 10am and 6pm to discover some hidden gems in those boxes.
Over fifty record stores from across the Benelux, Germany and France will be exhibiting. It will be packed, so come early to have your space and time, and run through the large selection of vinyl records, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and turntables. There’s nothing better than a cup of tea on a Saturday evening while listening to the gentle crackle of your turntable playing your new discovery.

What: Spooky storytelling for teens and adults

If you just can’t get enough of Halloween, this is definitely an event not to miss. Our colleague from Delano, Jess Bauldry, is presenting 7 writers on this inaugural Halloween literary evening in Luxembourg city. Expect shivers down your spines, spooky moments, plenty of darkness, and talking of death...
The seven featured writers will present poetry and short stories, so it will be a varied and interactive evening. Tickets have to be booked online, but can also be purchased in cash at the door if space allows for more guests.

What: Youth orchestra taking Europe by storm
Where: Conservatory of Luxembourg, 33 Rue Charles Martel
When: Saturday, 2 November (8pm)
Audience: Families, friends and kids.
The musicians making up this youth orchestra are without doubt part of the next generation of orchestral superstars, if they aren’t already. It is then no surprise that they actively touring with their extensive repertoire of Tschaikowsky, Offenbach and Rimskij Korsakov. Their fine selection of pieces from the late 19th Century bring deep, inner emotions to life.
This concert is free, but demand will be high, so make sure to come early to grab the best seats in the auditorium. For more info, have a look here.

RIFF Festival is back in town for its 9th edition! An energetic blend of dance and music craziness is on the programme, so don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes and ear protection. Tickets can be bought through the Rotondes website.
The fact that Rotondes is in the heart of Luxembourg city makes it an excellent location to pop by and see what’s up. Gypsy jazz music will kick of the evening, followed by plenty of good vibrations in reggae. Balkan music and orginal performances will make you shuffle through the night, which won’t be ending early, as the DJ will take you all the way until 3am. Get into the mood:
What: Learn about microfossils with real paleontologists and biologists
Where: Museum of Natural History, 25 rue Münster
When: Sunday, 3 November (2pm-4pm)

Ever heard of microfossils? They tend to be so small that you can only see them with the help of a microscope, but during this event you’ll be able to hold them in your hand!
Head out to the Museum of Natural History on Sunday afternoon for a very cool yet unusual experience. Ben Thuy and Lea Thuy-Numberger, together with the science club, will teach youngsters between the ages of 11-18 all you need to know about microfossils. Maybe you’ll even qualify as a real paleontologist at the end of the day.
