Formed in 2017, caroline began as a trio, Casper Hughes, Jasper Llewellyn, and Mike O’Malley, with weekly improvisation sessions above a South London pub.
Their lineup gradually expanded into an eight-piece, weaving together strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion to create a sound that blends choral textures and Appalachian folk.
Their 2022 debut album, caroline, received widespread acclaim, landing on The Quietus and Loud & Quiet’s Top 5 Albums of the Year and earning them a spot in Rolling Stone’s Top 10 New Artists. caroline has now returned after a three-year silence with Total euphoria, accompanying their UK and European tour.
