Renowned local venue and event organiser den Atelier has revealed big plans and seismic acts for their 2024 lineup.
Wednesday’s press briefing with den Atelier glanced back on a banner year - while promising immersive live shows, remote viewing with a twist, and exciting new partnerships across Luxembourg’s cultural institutions and myriad venues.
Carrying on from last year’s impressive figures, A-promotions organised 144 events in 2023, with 203,395 tickets sold and 54 sold-out shows (a leap from last year’s 39). Den Atelier is also proud to have invigorated the entertainment scene and the tourism sector throughout the last year, with a substantial number of tickets sold to visitors from outside of Luxembourg.
LuxExpo Open Air returns with big names
Drawing on the success and ease of access that came with last year’s LuxExpo Open Air experience, den Atelier is proud to announce mega-acts Scorpions (2 July), a summer Saturday blow-out with Calvin Harris (6 July), and – for the first time ever in Luxembourg – the inimitable Sam Smith (13 July).
Usina24 Festival continues in 2024
Save the dates! Usina24 welcomes you back for the first weekend of June! Described by the organisers as "a collaborative festival by major Luxembourgish cultural players" the event aims to create "a melting pot of international acts & local talents, street performers & entertainers, arts & culture."
Despite being a unique challenge, the festival has shown there is a place for such an event in Luxembourg. While we don't know all of the details yet, we know that German rap star Cro will headline on Saturday 1 June.
Tickets for both LuxExpo Open Air and Usina24 will be available through den Atelier's website at 10am on 15 December.
Chris Isaak and Steel Panther
Not to be undersold, glam rockers Steel Panther and timeless crooner Chris Isaak are also making their way, albeit separately, to the Grand Duchy! You’ll be able to catch them both at den Atelier, with Isaak strumming through "Wicked Game" on 6 August and Steel Panther making you reconsider your social media choices via "On Your Instagram" this 25 June.
Partnership with Lux Film Festival
As the presenters of Cyndi Lauper’s hotly anticipated new biopic “Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing”, den Atelier is proud to continue its partnership with the Luxembourg City Film Festival in 2024. The film will be available for anyone who just wants to have fun, from 29 February to 10 March.
Family-friendly fare: Les Misérables in October 2024 & Peppa Pig on 17 November
One of den Atelier’s proudest acquisitions for the next year is undoubtedly “Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular”. The world’s longest-running musical will be at Rockhal 25-27 October 2024, offering daytime and evening performances to increase the scope of availability for families, schools, and early-birds in general.
Another note for the family calendar: German theatre company Cocomico brings English children’s staple Peppa Pig to opderschmelz Dudelange on 17 November, with “Peppa Pig: Peppa auf Abenteuer” (“Peppa Pig: Peppa’s Adventures”) - for what promises to be a visually stunning and interactive experience for the tiniest Luxembourgers in your family.

Accessibility through Immersive Live® and Kulturpass
Den Atelier has also announced new partnerships to improve accessibility for events, in two very different ways. Using cutting-edge audio-tactile technology, den Atelier and other venues will be making "Immersive Live®" available to audiences with hearing impairments. This system allows individuals to "experience the sensation of bass frequencies through high-fidelity physical sound" through SubPac® technology - while the entire experience appears silent to outside observers. A limited number of SubPacs will be available and registration in advance is required.
Additionally, Kulturpass has now joined forces with den Atelier events to improve accessibility for everyone across Luxembourg, regardless of cost. Availability is limited and reservations are necessary, however, and can be made through info@atelier.lu and the Kulturpass website.
