Bail’s anthology is entitled “wie viele faden tief” (roughly translates as ‘how many threads deep’). The author was one of five contenders short-listed for the literary award.

Jeanne Glesener, president of the jury, noted that the collection of 50 poems displays great originality in its use of sewing metaphors as a link to everyday life. Furthermore, Bail manages to captivate the attention of readers with her innovative language use.

Last year, Bail was already awarded the first price in the national literature competition for the manuscript of another collection of poems, entitled “statt einer ankunft” (roughly translates as ‘instead of on arrival’).

Bail is now to be awarded with the prestigious Servais prize on 13 July. Last year’s winner was Francis Kirps.
