For its 80th anniversary, The Little Prince is being given a fresh new look. The British illustration studio MinaLima, known for its work on the Harry Potter series, has created a colourful reinterpretation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic, complete with pop-up elements. It marks the first newly illustrated edition since the French release in 1946.

The new edition has been published simultaneously in 22 languages and features around 100 illustrations, along with several animated elements designed to appeal particularly to younger readers. Publisher Gallimard gave the studio full creative freedom. The initial print run stands at 250,000 copies worldwide.

The Little Prince remains one of the most successful literary works of all time, with 300 million copies sold and translations into around 650 languages and dialects. It is the most translated book in the world after the Bible.

To mark the anniversary, the original manuscript will also be published, alongside new exhibitions and other cultural projects.
